Cookie Policy

This Cookie Policy explains how Foutzis Photoart uses cookies and similar technologies on foutzisphotoart.com. It supplements our Privacy Policy, which describes how we handle personal data more broadly and sets out your rights.

The data controller is FoutzisPhotoart, contactable at [email protected].

1. What cookies are

A cookie is a small text file placed on your device when you visit a website. It lets the site recognise your device across pages and visits. We also use technologies that behave similarly — including browser local storage, session storage, pixels and embedded scripts — and this policy covers all of them collectively as “cookies”.

Cookies are described as first-party when set by foutzisphotoart.com, and third-party when set by another domain whose content or service we load, such as Google or Instagram. Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser; persistent cookies remain for a defined period.

2. The legal position

Under Article 4(1) of the Cyprus Law on the Regulation of Electronic Communications and Postal Services 112(I)/2004, implementing the ePrivacy Directive, we may store or access information on your device only with your consent, unless the cookie is strictly necessary to provide the service you have requested.

Accordingly:

  • Strictly necessary cookies are set without consent. You cannot disable them through our banner, though you can block them in your browser at the cost of site functionality.
  • All other cookies — analytics, functional, embedded third-party content and any advertising — are set only after you give consent, and only for the categories you accept.

Where a cookie also involves processing of personal data, our legal basis is your consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR for non-essential categories, and our legitimate interests under Article 6(1)(f) in operating and securing the site for strictly necessary ones.

3. Your choices

When you first visit, our consent banner lets you accept all cookies, reject all non-essential cookies, or choose by category. Rejecting is as easy as accepting, and refusing non-essential cookies does not restrict your access to any part of this site.

You can change or withdraw your choices at any time. Withdrawal takes effect immediately for future processing and does not affect processing already carried out.

Your consent is recorded and stored for [6] months, after which we will ask again. We also re-request consent if we add a new cookie category or a materially new provider.

4. Cookies used on this site

The tables below reflect the services confirmed as active on this site. Exact cookie names and lifetimes are set by the providers and may change without notice on their side; we review this list quarterly.

4.1 Strictly necessary

4.2 Analytics — consent required

Help us understand how the site is used so we can improve it. We use Google Analytics 4, deployed through Google Tag Manager (container GTM-NQ8MGVLC) and the Google tag GT-PHRN2MBG, managed via the Google Site Kit plugin. Google Tag Manager itself sets no cookies; it loads the tags listed below.

Cookie Provider Purpose Duration
_ga Google (third party) Assigns a pseudonymous ID to distinguish visitors. 2 years
_ga_PHRN2MBG Google (third party) Maintains analytics session state for our specific property. 2 years
_gid Google (third party) Distinguishes visitors within a 24-hour window. 24 hours
_gat / _gat_gtag_* Google (third party) Throttles the rate of requests sent to Google Analytics. 1 minute

We have configured Google Analytics with IP anonymisation enabled, Google Signals [disabled], and data retention set to [14] months. We do not use Analytics data to build advertising audiences. Google acts as our processor for Analytics; see section 5.

4.3 Advertising

We do not currently run advertising or remarketing tags on this site. No Meta Pixel, Google Ads conversion tag or similar tracker is deployed. If we add one, we will update this policy and re-request your consent before it loads.

5. Third-party recipients and international transfers

The third-party services above are provided by Cloudflare, Inc., Google Ireland Limited and Meta Platforms Ireland Limited. These providers may process data outside the European Economic Area, principally in the United States. Such transfers are protected by the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses, by the provider’s certification under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, or by another lawful mechanism under Chapter V GDPR.

Cookies set by third parties are governed by those parties’ own policies:

6. Managing cookies in your browser

Independently of our banner, you can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent parts of the site from working.

  • Chrome — Settings › Privacy and security › Third-party cookies
  • Safari — Settings › Privacy
  • Firefox — Settings › Privacy & Security
  • Edge — Settings › Cookies and site permissions

Opting out of Google Analytics across all sites is also possible via Google’s browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

7. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

There is no agreed standard for how sites should respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals, and we do not currently act on DNT. We do honour Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals. Our consent banner remains the reliable way to control non-essential cookies on this site.

8. Changes to this policy

We update this policy when we add, remove or reconfigure a service that uses cookies. The version and date at the top indicate the current release. Where a change introduces a new non-essential cookie category or provider, we will ask for your consent again before it takes effect.
